The AlburtyLab Liquid Particle Concentrator is being evaluated for inclusion in multiple US Government aerosol detection programs: Program managers for 5 different US Government aerosol detection programs are evaluating a proprietary particle concentration technology developed in collaboration with Page Applied Research, LLC, of Kansas City, Missouri. This technology has currently been demonstrated to efficiently concentrate micron-sized particles suspended in 10 mL of fluid into 10 uL of fluid within seconds.

June 7th, 2007

U.S. Patent Application submitted May 30 for our liquid-liquid particle concentration process. Concentration factors of up to 1500X are demonstrated, as well as methods for attaining nearly 100% efficiency.

Liquid-Liquid Particle Concentrator Performance Improved to 90%. Ongoing research at Alburtylab has pursued the concentration of micron-sized particles from a collection fluid into a smaller volume for detection. This volume reduction results in a concentration increase of from 40X to 65X when used to concentrate a 10 mL sample down to 100 uL. See the R&D page for more details.

Alburtylab sponsors Drexel Holidays Celebration

Alburtylab donated a custom-bound drawing notebook, pen, and calculator to the Drexel Lions Club for their holiday prize drawing. The prize drawing was held on Saturday, December 9 at 10:00 A.M. Prizes were donated by the Main Street Merchants and Businesses. The weather was warm, and the sunny day was welcome.

Also in the news: Our new TSI small-scale powder disperser arrived this week. We set it up and tested it in the aerosol chamber with Talc and Celite, quickly achieving aerosol concentrations over 0.3 mg/m^3 (measured using the TSI 3321 aerodynamic pariticle sizer). Up to 4 mg/m^3 can reportedly be achieved with this new instrument, which aerosolizes dry powders and finely divided solids of many types!
